Barb A. Smith, 72, of Grinnell died Friday, March 15, 2024, at Montezuma Specialty Care in Montezuma, Iowa.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 23, 2024, in Hazelwood Cemetery, south lawn section. There will be a time of lunch and sharing memories in the Reception Hall of Cox-Smith Funeral Home following the service.  Please dress casually and blue was her favorite color. Barb was born on January 25, 1952, to Cleo and Georgia (Young) Smith in Grinnell, Iowa. She attended Grinnell schools. She worked 30+ years at DeLong's until they closed. Barb loved crafts of any kind; anything from adult coloring books, puzzles, and baking. She was always busy in the community room. Barb had the gift of gab and never a stranger did she meet. She truly was a people person and was easy going. She always remained in contact, no matter where you were, you could always count on her for a phone call or card in the mail.

Her memories will live on through her sister, Wanda (Bruce) Hidlebaugh of Grinnell; nieces, Amy and Stacy; nephew, Joey; great nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, Jaden and Jamison; her great-great niece and nephew, Emryn and Theo and one on the way; her aunt, Sharon Boyer and uncle, Jerry Young; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
