Charles R. Bowen, 22, died on Saturday, December 25, 2021, in Grinnell. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 31, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Cox-Smith Funeral Home, 135 1 ^st Avenue W. in Grinnell. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Charles can be made out in his name and sent in care of Cox-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, PO Box 163, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.

Charles was born on September 18, 1999, in Okeene, Oklahoma, to Kristina Clayton. He attended Newton High School. He worked for Jeld-Wen and later at K&M Tire in Grinnell.

He held a great passion for photography. You could always find him taking pictures and when he wasn't, he was gaming.  Some of his favorite games were Kingdom Hearts, World of Warcraft, Diablo or Minecraft.  Charles was a goofball. He would sneak up behind you and start his "wrestling attacks". Charles loved to have a good time and dance. He was a friend to all and will be missed.

He will be remembered by his mother, Kristina Clayton of Melcher-Dallas, father, Daniel Clayton of Newton; his sister, Jeanetta Clayton of Melcher-Dallas; maternal grandparents, Geneva Belcher of Newton and Roy Adams of Belle Plaine; paternal grandparents, Phil (Edith) Muta of Newton, Richard (Kay) Clayton of Grinnell; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Adams; his great grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
