David A. Yakle, 69. Of Grinnell, died on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at UnityPoint Health – Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. His wishes were to be cremated.

David was born on July 2, 1957, the son of Jacob and Betty (Shandy) Yakle in Junction City, Kansas. He graduated high school and started his own trucking business, later working for Manatts. David retired in 2015. On March 9, 1977, he married Cecilia Bailey and they were blessed with their daughter, Tristan in 1989. The couple later divorced. David enjoyed fishing and camping. He cherished every moment with his family and grandchildren.

He will be remembered by his daughter, Tristan Yakle of Montour; grandchildren, Olivia and Trevor; niece, Tammy Irish; nephew, Roger Smith; great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Debbe Yakle; and his former wife, Cecilia Bailey Swain.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers.
