Frankie J. Smith, 80, of Montezuma died Thursday, April 4, 2024 at UnityPoint-Grinnell. Memorials in her name can be sent in care of Cox-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, PO Box 163, Grinnell, Iowa 50112. There are no services pending at this time.

Frankie was born to Frank and Clyde Smith on December 26, 1943, in Arkansas. On December 31, 1962, she married Dorne Smith. She was a bookkeeper for Wisconsin Race Track before retiring. Frankie always enjoyed her trips back to Arkansas to visit friends and family. She was an avid bird watcher and loved the peacefulness of the outdoors. Antiquing, quilting, going to the casino are things she liked doing. Frankie's family always came first.

She is survived by her husband, Dorne; children, Cary (Delores) Smith, Shari (Jeff) Griffis and Jodi (Mark) Johnson; grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Benjamin Smith, Jessica Potts, Kyle Calkins and Kati Westerfield; several great grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.

Frankie was preceded in death by her parents; all her siblings; and grandson, Cory Smith.
