Ilene M. Connealy, 83, of Gilman, died Friday, March 24, 2023, at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm , at the Elks Lodge in Grinnell.   Cox-Smith Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ilene was born on October 29, 1939, to Paul and Marie (Wilson) Davis in Unionville, Missouri. She graduated from Unionville High School. Ilene married Ed Halley and to that union, two children were born; Mark and Shelley. The couple later divorced. In 1979, she was united in marriage to Jim Connealy. She enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting and quilting. Going to flea markets was always a great time. Ilene enjoyed the outdoors, working in the yard and camping with Jim.

Those left to remember Ilene are her daughter, Shelley Klingsporn of Gilman; Jim's children, Don (Penny) Connealy, Mark (Linda) Connealy, Maureen Connealy, Kari (Dave) Mollgaard and Jean (Scott) Mateson; her brother, Keith Davis; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim in 2018; son, Mark Halley; grandsons Matt Halley and Cole Connealy; and her siblings, Mary Ruth Routier, Louise Hudson, Howard Davis and Elaine Probasco.
