Jason Varnum, 44, of Cedar Falls died on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at his home.

A Sharing of Memories will be held 10:30 am, Monday, February 7, 2022, at Cox-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service. Memorials in his name may be sent to Cox-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, PO Box 163, Grinnell, Iowa 50112. Casual attire is requested by the family as well as anything green; his favorite color.

Jason Lyle Varnum was born on March 28, 1977, to Lyle and Darlene (Matson) Varnum in Marshalltown, Iowa. He graduated from Marshalltown High School and went on to trade school to be a mechanic.

On November 21, 2017, he married Laura Reese in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Jason could always get his "red neck" on. He enjoyed camping, Peterbilt trucks and fixing "Betsy". He was always talking about his children and grandchildren and loved them dearly. Honey Buns were always available and he liked playing with Monkey the cat.

Jason will be remembered by his wife, Laura, of Grinnell; his children, Kaylee Lacy of Grinnell, Erin Hintz of Waterloo, Sophie Quiram of Iowa City, Aryanna DuRocher of Vinton; step-children, Shelby (Andy) Peak and Colleen (Chris) Sawyer, all of Waterloo; grandchildren, A.J., Kenny, Landon, Isabell, Nezzy and Gemma; his brother, Jeff Varnum and sister, Rose Mace.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
