Jeffery "Jeff" Brummel, 66, of Grinnell died Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at UnityPoint Hospital-Grinnell Regional.

As per Jeff's wishes, he was cremated. Memorials may be made directed to the family and sent in care of Cox-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, PO Box 163, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.

Jeff was born on January 18, 1958, in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Richard and Lorna (Parkhurst) Brummel. He attended Ottumwa High School. Jeff was a handyman and liked to do projects. He did metal art and was a gifted artist. He enjoyed being outdoors and you could find him fishing or mushroom hunting. Jeff will be missed and his kindheartedness will always be remembered.

Those left to honor him are his sister, Julie (Gary Christinson) Owens; brother, Curtis Brummel; five children, Melissa, Jennifer, Michael, Amber, and Chelsea; and his friend and caretaker, Maryann Blagden.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
