Kevin C. Trauger, 44, died on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at his home.

The family will gather to honor his memory and invite you to a potluck on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 12 noon until 3:00 PM in the Reception Hall of Cox-Smith Funeral Home, 135 1st Avenue W, Grinnell. Memorials may be directed to his family, made out to Leslie Turnage or Rick Trauger, and sent in care of Cox-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, PO Box 163, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.

Kevin was born on January 26, 1980, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the son of David and Alice (Kauffman) Trauger and what he considered his parents James and Phoebe Falkner. He attended high school in Everett, Washington. Kevin would say he graduated from the school of Hard Knocks! He drove for K & M Tire.

He was a wonderful friend and had a big heart and a gentle soul. Kevin never met a stranger and was always looking out for others. Not only was he a man that you could share your thoughts and dreams with, but he was also a friend you could rely on. Kevin could also be a practical joker and was great at making people smile, even in the roughest of times. He was a beloved brother, uncle and friend. He was loved by many and will be missed.

Those that will cherish his memory are his wife, Leslie Turnage of Grinnell; two brothers, Rick (Michele) of Georgia and Alan (Kandice) Falkner of North Carolina; five sisters, Laura Williams, Teresa Falkner, Rachel Falkner, Kimberly Johnson and Judi Edge, all of Washington; niece, Cheyenne and nephew, Curt as well as several nieces and nephews on the Falkner side; and his trusted companion, Scrappy Doo.

He was preceded in death by both sets of parents.
