Norman E. Hunter, 79, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospital, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, with family by his side.

It was Norman's wish to be cremated with no services. Memorials may be directed to his daughter, Susan Hunter and mailed in care of Cox-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, PO Box 163, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.

Norman Eugene "Bick" Hunter was born on June 30, 1945, to Wilbur and Virginia  Hunter in Colfax, Iowa. He attended grade school in Colfax and later attended Grinnell Senior High School. On November 14, 1964, Norman married Linda Triplett in Colfax. He was employed at Maytag and retired. He decided he needed something to do so he started working at Jeld-Wen and eventually retired again.

He was "one of a kind". Norman was always working on projects, sometimes finally completing them! He enjoyed birds, fishing, woodworking and his garden. He loved every moment with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Norman is survived by his children, Susan Hunter, Michael (Lisa) Hunter, Melissa (Antonio) Mendoza all of Grinnell and Heather Hunter of Newton; grandchildren, Nicholas Hunter-Seymour, Holly Hunter, Keaton Hunter, Cory Hunter-Seymour, Mallory (Brad) Iverson, Miranda (Landen) Anderson, Marcos Mendoza, and Katelyn Hunter Swarts; great grandchildren, Jack, Cole, Dawson, Charlotte and Leo; and his trusty Doxin, Nubbs.

Preceding him in death are his mother, Virginia; father, Wilbur; and step-mother, Donna; his love of his life, Linda in 2021; daughter, Kimberly Sue in 1966; great granddaughter, Eloise Anderson in 2021; two sisters; and Luther his dog.
