William "Bill" Peters, 60, of Grinnell, died Thursday, November 24, 2022, at his home. As per his wishes he was cremated and will be scattered in his favorite places. A memorial fund has been established and can be sent in care of Cox-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, PO Box 163, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.

Bill was born on February 16, 1962, in Ft. Riley, Kansas to Clarence "Bill" and Hazel (Slagle) Peters. The family moved back to Grinnell, he graduated Grinnell Senior High School in 1980.

He was always on his toes with a good joke. Bill taught his daughter, nieces and nephews how to drive. He enjoyed walks, especially his walks with his beloved dog, Shiloh. He loved watching football and rooting for the Chicago Bears. He also enjoyed blues music, Hound Dog Taylor was his favorite. Bill previously worked at Grinnell College.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Kelena (Breck) Bonnell of Bondurant; grandchildren, Liam and Maddon; sisters, Susan Deppe and Sally Goodrich, both of Grinnell; nieces and nephews, Alan Goodrich, Stephanie Goodrich, Robin McGinnis and Shannon Deppe; great nieces and nephews; his best friend of many years, Neil Burkett, and his close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Don Deppe.
